Update Per Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department: Missing Persons Unit advises At-Risk Missing Person, Raul Varela Jr., has been located.

Thank you to the public, the media, Aero Bureau, and deputy personnel for their tireless efforts in the search for Mr. Varela.


August 31, 2024 – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials report that the Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public’s help locating at-risk missing person, Raul Varela Jr. He is a 60-year-old male Hispanic who was last seen on August 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. on the 24000 block of Woolsey Canyon Road in the city of Canoga Park.

Mr. Varela is described as 5’05” tall, 160 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, white T-shirt, and blue jeans.

Mr. Varela is medication dependent. His family is concerned for his well-being.
