Homicide 

September 3, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on September 2, 2024, at 5:27 a.m., deputies assigned to the Thermal Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of shots fired at a residence in the 85400 block of Valley Road, Coachella. Upon deputies’ arrival, they located a male inside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was later identified as Juan Sanchez, a 58-year-old resident of Coachella. The scene was secured and the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation.
