Traffic Collision in San Marcos 

September 8, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that on September 6, 2024, at approximately 9:07 p.m., Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office San Marcos Station, Traffic Division, responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. The collision occurred near the intersection of South Twin Oaks Valley Road and Shubin Lane, in the city of San Marcos.

A white Toyota Camry that was driven by a female driver heading southbound on S. Twin Oaks Valley Road when she hit the 76-year-old pedestrian.  The pedestrian was transported to the Palomar Medical Center Trauma Unit for serious injuries by the San Marcos paramedics.  The female pedestrian later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The female driver remained at the scene, and alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
