September 11, 2024 – San Diego Police Department officials report that an officer's quick response to sounds of danger ends with an arrest and multiple firearms off the streets of our community.
Officers on patrol in the Oak Park neighborhood of Southeastern Division heard multiple gunshots emanating from a nearby location.
Fearing the worst, multiple Officers responded to the scene and were able to successfully detain two individuals they found to be connected to the sounds of gunfire.
Officers arrived at the area of gunshots and located one subject with a concealed firearm and ammunition. During the investigation, an illegal long rifle with multiple high-capacity magazines, including one drum-style magazine was located in the subject's vehicle.
The investigation ended with the subject being arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm and other weapons-related charges.
