Update: Homicide in Lemon Grove
September 25, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on September 18, 2024, at about 10.55 p.m., 
the Sheriff's Office Communication Center received several calls of gunshots in the 2200 block of Dain Ct., in Lemon Grove. Lemon Grove deputies arrived on scene at about 11:00 p.m. and discovered 23-year-old Darron Willie Singleton Jr., from Lemon Grove, lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Deputies immediately began lifesaving measures until relieved by San Miguel Fire Department personnel. Unfortunately, Singleton Jr. succumbed to his injuries on scene.
On September 20, 2024, the Medical Examiner's Office completed the autopsy. The preliminary results indicate manner of death is multiple gunshot wounds and the cause of death is a homicide.

Sheriff's Homicide investigators are working to gather more information to determine the circumstances and motivation behind this death. The investigation is ongoing. Currently, there is no confirmed suspect information.
