September 25, 2024 – San Diego Police Department officials report that a San Diego beach vacation in a stolen luxury vehicle doesn’t go as planned.

Recently, our Northern Division officers were alerted to two subjects staying at a hotel in Mission Bay who were reportedly using fraudulent identification when checking in for their stay.

As officers responded, they uncovered the subjects were also traveling in a stolen Maserati taken out of Inglewood, CA.

The subjects were spotted leaving the hotel in the stolen vehicle. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop to investigate further. As officers activated their overhead lights & sirens, subjects in the Maserati quickly sped away.

Eventually, the vehicle suffered a popped tire and pulled into a driveway leading the driver to flee on foot from pursuing units. The driver of the vehicle was quickly apprehended. The passenger fled from the vehicle mid-pursuit and was taken into custody soon after its conclusion.

The two individuals face multiple charges from the pursuit including the recovery of an unreported stolen Glock 30 with .45 Caliber ammunition located in the stolen Maserati.
