Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run
October 10, 2024 – North Hollywood, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the Valley Traffic Division detectives are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that killed an adult male.
On September 13, 2024, around 1:50 a.m., a dark vehicle traveling eastbound on Victory Boulevard near Craner Avenue collided with a pedestrian outside the crosswalk. The vehicle’s driver fled the location, failing to identify themselves and render aid as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. He was a White male, approximately 33 years old.
On April 15, 2015, the Los Angeles City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
