Fatal Traffic Collision

October 11, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 3:56 a.m., riverside county sheriff logodeputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Mission Boulevard and Camino Real, Jurupa Valley, regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision. When deputies arrived, they located the pedestrian lying along the northern roadway edge of Mission Boulevard east of Sikh Temple Way. The pedestrian had obvious signs of trauma and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the involved vehicle was uninjured during the traffic collision, remained on scene, and cooperated with the investigation.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor. The pedestrian's identity will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Mission Boulevard, between Tyrolite Street and Caleb Street, to process the scene and collect evidence.

Anyone who witnessed the traffic collision or has any information about this incident is encouraged to call Deputy Petersen of the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at (951) 955-2600 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at (951) 776-1099.
