Andrew Louie Sandoval pleaded no contest to sexually assaulting two boys on various occasions between November 2015-2024
October 11, 2024 - LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced that on October 9, Andrew Sandoval was sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Margaret Bernal to 15 years to life on each count, to be served concurrently. Sandoval pleaded no contest in case 24DWCF00722 to two felony counts of oral copulation with a child 10 years or younger.
“While the legal process has reached a conclusion, it is important to recognize that no sentence can truly remedy the deep and lasting trauma of what these victims have experienced,” District Attorney Gascón said. “To the courageous young survivors, we offer our heartfelt compassion. Your bravery is a powerful step toward healing, and we stand with you in your journey. I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to our office’s Sex Crimes Division, especially Deputy District Attorney Safaan Ahmed, whose relentless dedication and commitment made this prosecution possible.”
As a part of sentencing, Sandoval also was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. The court also issued a 10-year stay away protective order for both victims.
From November 2015 through 2024, Sandoval sexually assaulted two boys, between the ages of four and nine years old, on different occasions within Los Angeles County.
As part of its investigation, law enforcement conducted outreach to dozens of schools and childcare centers where Sandoval worked to verify the scope and duration of his duties at those facilities. No victims came forward. The victims in the case were not students at any of the schools where Sandoval worked.
The case was prosecuted by the Sex Crimes Division and investigated by the South Gate and Los Angeles police departments.
