Fatal Traffic Collision
October 13, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Friday, October 11, 2024, at about 8:30 p.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Mission Boulevard and Pyrite Street, Jurupa Valley, regarding a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian hit-and-run collision. When deputies arrived, they located the victim in the roadway with obvious signs of death.
The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The identity of the victim will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.
The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Mission Boulevard between Pyrite Street and Vernon Avenue to process the scene and collect evidence.
