Fatal Traffic Collision 

October 13, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:26 p.m., deputies responded to Van Buren Boulevard south of Jurupa Road, Jurupa Valley, regarding a report of a two-vehicle, major-injury traffic collision. Deputies arrived and located the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles involved deceased. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle involved were transported to an area hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and it appears that alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The identity of the driver will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Van Buren Boulevard between Jurupa Road and 56th Street to process the scene and collect evidence.
