Update: California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) Announces Donya Gantt was Apprehended After Walking Away from Los Angeles Reentry Program

October 15, 2024 - LOS ANGELES – California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) officials are cdcr1015 Donya Ganttsearching for an incarcerated person who walked away today from a Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP).

At about 2 p.m., officials were alerted that incarcerated person Donya Gantt had tampered with his ankle monitor. An emergency count of the MCRP was conducted immediately, confirming Gantt was missing. CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety and local law enforcement have been notified and are assisting in the search.

Gantt, 33, is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weights approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark brown/black pants and a light-colored t-shirt.

Gantt was received on April 3, 2024 from Los Angeles. He was sentenced to two years and eight months for vehicle theft and second-degree robbery.

Anyone who sees Gantt  or has knowledge of their whereabouts should immediately contact law enforcement, call 911 or (contact).

Since 1977, 99 percent of all offenders who have left an adult institution, camp or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.
