Graffiti Vandalism Arrests
October 15, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that in September 2024, deputies assigned to the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Monterey Avenue and Verbenia Drive in the city of Rancho Mirage regarding a wall damaged by graffiti. The investigation revealed the suspects were responsible for committing over $10,000 worth a damage throughout the Coachella Valley. Areas targeted were freeway bridges, electrical boxes, private fences/walls, and street signs. The Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET) wrote several search warrants that resulted in the identification of the suspects as 27-year-old Austin Levens a resident of Desert Hot Springs, and 23-year-old, Jayce Creeden, a resident of Rancho Mirage.
The suspects are believed to be responsible for all the vandalisms that displays the words, “ONCES,” “ELEVENS”, “11s,” and “RACHET.” On October 14, 2024, the Rancho Mirage SET, Indian Wells SET, and Palm Desert SET apprehended the suspects and served two search warrants in the 66000 block of 10th Street in the city of Desert Hot Springs, and at a residence in the area of Victory Road and Via Merenda in the city of Rancho Mirage. The search warrants yielded about 170 cans of spray paint, over 100 spray paint tips, custom stickers, graffiti books, and over 300 paint markers. Both suspects were booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for felony vandalism and conspiracy. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are available.
