LAPD Announces Arrest of Serial ATM Burglary Suspects 

October 23, 2024 – Mission Area, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that (LAPD), Mission Division LAPD logois announcing the arrest of four serial ATM Burglary suspects.

Between August 16 and October 16, 2024, two robberies, including a kidnapping and carjacking, and eight ATM burglaries occurred in Mission Area, as well as one ATM burglary in West Valley Area. In all incidents, the suspects forced open the front door of the business, entered the premises, and tied a chain around the ATM machine. The suspects used their vehicle to pull the machines out of the business, load them into the back of their vehicle, and flee the scene, before removing the cash from the ATMs and abandoning them at various locations.

Mission area detectives, through their diligent investigation, connected the robberies with the ATM burglaries, and, with assistance from the Metropolitan Division, identified the possible suspects and vehicles involved.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Metropolitan Division assisted Mission area detectives in serving search warrants and Ramey warrants for multiple locations and suspects identified in the series of ATM Burglaries. These warrants were served in Sylmar and Canyon Country, resulting in the arrest of four suspects. Numerous items of evidence that were connected to the crimes were recovered, including US currency. Detectives also recovered and impounded three vehicles that were involved in the crimes.

This is an on-going investigation.

The suspects have been identified as follows:

22-year-old Anthony Cacho, a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested for 182(A)(1) PC – Conspiracy to Commit Burglary (booking # 6902367). On October 18, 2024, the District Attorney’s Office filed one count of 30605 PC – Possession of Unregistered Assault Weapon.

24-year-old Stephany Gonzalez-Jimenez, a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested for 182(A)(1) PC – Conspiracy to Commit Burglary (booking # 6902369). On October 18, 2024, the District Attorney’s Office filed one count of 459 PC – Commercial Burglary.

40-year-old Luis Angel Rodriguez-Arroyo, a resident of Santa Clarita, was arrested for 215 PC – Carjacking (booking # 6902347). On October 18, 2024, the District Attorney’s Office filed one count of 215 PC – Carjacking and five counts 459 PC – Commercial Burglary. He is being held with $100,000.00 bail.

24-year-old Richard Nevarez, a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested for 211 PC – Robbery (booking # 6902344). His case is pending review by the District Attorney’s Office for filing considerations.
