Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision
October 30, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 7:29 p.m., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff's Station responded to Midway Street, west of San Jacinto Avenue, in the city of San Jacinto, regarding a major injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian. Deputies arrived and located an unresponsive male on the shoulder of the roadway with significant injuries. The male was stabilized and transported to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. The vehicle that struck the male fled the scene after the collision and was not located.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the male was walking westbound on the roadway shoulder when he was struck by an unknown vehicle also traveling westbound. The vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene, turning northbound onto Santa Fe Avenue. Deputies believe the vehicle was a smaller passenger-type vehicle of unknown color. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional information is available.
