Double Murder Suspect Arrested
October 31, 2024 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the West Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating two connected shootings that left a 43-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman dead.
On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, around 4:20 p.m., Wilshire Area officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 900 block of South Victoria Avenue. Officers arrived and were directed to a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. Later, it was learned the suspect intentionally struck the victim with his vehicle prior to shooting him.
On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, around 10:30 p.m., Olympic Area officers were directed to a vehicle located in the 800 block of South Berendo Street with a deceased 38-year-old female in the passenger’s seat. She suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased.
The suspect responsible for both murders walked into 77th Area station and was identified as Marvin Magana, a 50-year-old resident of Los Angeles. He was arrested and booked for 187(A) PC – Murder. His booking number is 6909605 and is being held on $3,000,000.00 bail. Victims identification are being withheld pending next of kin notification.
This case will be presented for filing consideration at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
