Dramatic Horse Rescue in Yucaipa: Tequila Freed from Ditch by CAL FIRE/Yucaipa Fire 

November 4, 2024 – Yucaipa, CA – CAL FIRE officials report that at 2:25 p.m. on October 13, CAL FIRE/Yucaipa Fire Department responded to an urgent animal rescue call in a remote area near Wildwood Canyon Road and Canyon Road. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a horse named Tequila trapped upside down in a ditch, unable to escape.

After assessing the situation, firefighters called in technical rescue mutual aid resources. Assistance was provided by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District and the Yucaipa Police Department, who worked collaboratively to free the stranded horse.

Thanks to the quick and coordinated efforts of all agencies involved, Tequila was successfully rescued and transported to a local equine hospital for further evaluation at approximately 6:20 p.m.
