November 5, 2024 – Monterey County Sheriff’s Office officials report that they are investigating a shooting that left two victims injured while attending a gathering at the St. Theodore’s Catholic Pastoral Center in Chualar.

At about 1:07 A.M., on Sunday, November 3^rd, 2024, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls from the area of Grant Street and Scott Street in Chualar. Reporting parties stated that two persons had been shot and assistance was needed.

Upon arrival, Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies located two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to hospitals for treatment of their injuries and are expected to survive.

Monterey County Sheriff’s Detectives are actively investigating this incident, and no further information is available at this time.
