SDPD indecent
November 7, 2024 – San Diego Police Department officials report that the Northwestern Division arrested a man on Monday for multiple indecent exposure incidents, occurring over a 10-year period with 17 victims. The suspect, 27-year-old Rene Cruz of Carmel Valley, was arrested for a series of indecent exposures targeting school-aged girls in the Carmel Valley area.

The suspect in these cases targeted his victims by pulling his car alongside them and exposing himself through his open car door as they walked home from school. He would generally be sitting in the passenger seat of a white Toyota sedan, or a silver Buick SUV.

Based on information gleaned during the investigation, it was discovered that students from Torrey Pines High School, Carmel Valley Middle School, and Solana Pacific Elementary School were targeted in these indecent exposure incidents. This case is being prosecuted by the City Attorney’s office.

There may be more victims involved in this series who have not yet come forward. SDPD is asking for help from the community in locating any further victims related to this series.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Michael Weaver of SDPD’s Northwestern Division or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
