Shooting at an Occupied Dwelling
November 10, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 9, 2024, at 10:40 p.m., deputies assigned to the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a shooting in the 7000 block of Minnesota Road in the unincorporated area of El Cerrito. Deputies arrived at the scene and located several shell casings along with a residence and vehicle that were struck by gunfire. The Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation.
Deputies from the Special Enforcement Team developed information regarding three suspects involved in the shooting. They were identified as 32-year-old Matthew Moala, 33-year-old Adam Reyes, and 33-year-old Margarita Elisalde, all residents of Perris. On November 7, 2024, with the assistance of the Riverside Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau, a search warrant was served at a residence on the 22000 block of Markam Lane, Perris. Moala, Reyes, and Elisalde were located, arrested, and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center for conspiracy and shooting a firearm at an occupied dwelling.
