4-Vehicle Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision Leaves Two Panorama City People with Severe Injuries
November 11, 2024 – Van Nuys, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that on Valley Traffic Detectives (VTD) are investigating a hit and run traffic collision that caused severe injuries to two victims who are residents of Panorama City.
On November 8, 2024, around 9:50 p.m., a Mercedes GT63 and a Rolls Royce Cullinan were traveling westbound on Sherman Way at a high rate of speed. The Mercedes collided with the right side of a Honda Civic that was traveling eastbound negotiating a left turn into the parking lot at Sherman Circle. The two occupants of the Honda sustained serious injuries from this collision. The driver of the Rolls Royce veered to the left to avoid colliding with the Honda. It went into oncoming lanes and collided with a Chevy Traverse that was traveling eastbound. After the impact, the Rolls Royce continued in a southwest direction and collided with the curb. The driver of the Rolls Royce exited the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction leaving the vehicle at the scene, without identifying themselves, or attempting to render aid to others involved in the collision.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the two victims to local hospitals for medical treatment where they are currently in critical condition. Their names are being withheld pending notification to their next of kin. The driver of the Mercedes suffered a complaint of pain injuries and was also transported to a local hospital. He was placed under arrest for reckless driving. The driver of the Rolls Royce is still being sought after for reckless driving and hit and run. This is an ongoing investigation.
Driving at an unsafe speed can cause serious consequences and death to innocent bystanders. Motorists are also reminded to follow the rules of the road.
