Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Firearm, Search Warrant Service

November 11, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Friday, November 7, 2024, at 11:46 p.m., RCSO assault FelixColorado River Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 18000 block of Eureka Drive, Mesa Verde, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon.  Several witnesses reported that they heard yelling and screaming coming from the location, along with some gunshots. When deputies arrived, they learned that 39-year-old Christopher Felix (pictured), a resident of Mesa Verde, had been involved in a physical altercation with several neighbors. After the physical altercation, Felix retrieved a firearm from his residence and fired five to six shots, but no one was struck by the gunfire.

Colorado River Station deputies, along with assistance from the California Highway Patrol and the Blythe Police Department, set up a perimeter around the residence, and Felix eventually exited and surrendered. A search warrant was served at the location, and evidence of a firearm being discharged was located. Felix was arrested and booked into the Blythe Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.  This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available.
