November 11, 2024 – Monterey County Sheriff's Office officials report that Detectives are investigating a shooting that left Monterey SO press releaseone person dead during a sideshow event that occurred at the intersection of Prunedale Road South at Blackie Road in Prunedale.

At about 10:25 P.M. on Saturday, November 9th, 2024, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol began receiving multiple calls from the area of Prunedale Road South and Blackie Road for a report of a person that had been shot during a vehicle sideshow. Upon arrival, Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies and CHP Officers located a single victim who had sustained gunshot injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Adrian Puga of Salinas.

This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
