Street Takeover Crackdown in Paramount
November 11, 2024 – Lakewood Sheriff's Station officials report that Paramount Deputies and the city of Paramount are taking a firm stand against illegal street racing and street takeovers. These dangerous activities not only threaten public safety but can also carry serious consequences.
Spectator Fines Up to $2,000: Even just watching can lead to steep fines. Many spectators have already been issued citations in our city.
Vehicle Seizures for 30 Days: If you’re involved, your vehicle could be impounded for up to a month. Just ask the owner of this black Lexus, that was seized for participating in a street takeover which took place on Garfield Ave. and Alondra Blvd. on October 20th.
We’re committed to keeping Paramount safe for our residents. Illegal street racing has no place in our community. Let’s all do our part by staying vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity. Together, we can keep our streets safe and enjoyable for everyone.
See something? Say something! Your cooperation makes a difference. To report a street takeover please call Lakewood Sheriff’s Station at 562-623-3500 or dial 911 if the situation develops into an emergency.
Be safe everyone!
