Homicide Investigation in Mission Area
November 13, 2024 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left one person dead.
On November 11, 2024, around 10:50 a.m., Mission division patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting near Orion Avenue and Rayen Street. When officers arrived, they found the victim in an encampment on an embankment of the 405-freeway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where, despite lifesaving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The victim is described as an adult male in his 30’s. His name is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information at this time. Valley Bureau Homicide is handling the investigation.
