Suspect Arrested for Lewd Acts Against a Minor
November 15, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that in October 2024, the Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station began investigating allegations of lewd acts against a minor. Investigators learned two separate adult males were sexually exploiting a male juvenile victim. The investigation revealed the victim was being solicited via social media and meeting with the two unknown adult males. After several search warrants and numerous interviews, investigators located evidence of the sexual assaults. Investigators identified one of the suspects as Joel Rikardo Medina (pictured), a 24-year-old resident of Corona.
On November 5, 2024, investigators were informed Medina contacted the victim via cell phone and requested to meet. Investigators arranged the meeting and took Median into custody in the 100 block of McKinley Street, Corona, without incident. Medina was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for several counts of lewd acts against a minor and sexual assault of a minor.
