Sexual Predator Arrest
November 15, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 4:24 p.m., deputies from the Southwest Sheriff's Station responded to a sexual assault of a child that occurred in the 32000 block of Torenia Court, Temecula. Deputies arrived and located the victim's family members detaining the suspect. The suspect was identified as Jose Rogelio Hernandez-Gallegos, a 45-year-old resident of Riverside. Investigators were called to the scene and assumed the investigation.
The investigation revealed that Hernandez-Gallegos worked in the area, performing painting services for homeowners. While working at this residence, Hernandez-Gallegos gained access to a child in the home who he photographed and sexually abused. Hernandez-Gallegos was taken into custody and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for lewd acts with a minor, annoying and molesting a minor, and possession of obscene matter. Investigators requested a bail enhancement, which was granted in the amount of $250,000.
The Riverside Sheriff's Southwest Station believes there may be additional victims and encourages anyone with information to call Investigator Dawn Oxley at (951) 696-3000. This investigation is ongoing, and no further details will be released. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office remains committed to pursuing those who prey on children and bringing them to justice.
