Burglary Suspect Arrested 

December 7, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 4:47 p.m., the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 10000 block of East Vernon Avenue in the unincorporated area of Blythe regarding a burglary. The victim reported they were not home, but an unknown subject had entered their residence.

Upon arrival, deputies from the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station and Blythe Police Department set up a perimeter and began making announcements, but the suspect refused to exit. Deputies initiated a search of the residence and located the suspect, identified as Michael Brodkin, a 34-year-old resident of Blythe, hiding inside a bedroom. Brodkin was booked at the Blythe Jail for burglary, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available.
