Death Investigation Begins when Deputies Arrest Man who was Acting Erratic 

December 9, 2024 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at about 5:37 p.m., deputies from the Hesperia Station responded to Lime Street Park after Hesperia Park Rangers requested assistance with a trespasser who was refusing to leave.  

Deputies arrived and found the male subject inside a bathroom.  The deputies and the park rangers escorted the man out of the bathroom and deputies attempted to detain him.  The male subject displayed erratic behavior and refused to comply.  Deputies handcuffed the male subject and requested medical aid as a precaution.  

During the incident, the male subject stopped breathing and deputies administered CPR until medical aid arrived.  The male subject was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation.  

The decedent was transported to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
