Bomb Threat in Valley Center 

December 10, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on the morning of Monday, san diego county sheriff department logoDecember 9, an anonymous caller made a telephonic bomb threat at Harrah's Resort Southern California on the Rincon Indian Reservation in Valley Center.

While conducting a safety sweep of the premises, resort staff discovered a backpack in an unauthorized area.

Out of an abundance of caution, the area of the resort where the backpack was found was cleared of personnel. Evacuation of the resort was not necessary.

A joint incident command was established with the Valley Center Sheriff's Substation, Rincon Fire Department, Rincon Gaming Commission, Rincon Tribe, Harrah's Security personnel, Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit and Sheriff's Explosives Detection K-9s.

The backpack was eventually checked but did not contain anything suspicious.

Sheriff's Explosive Detection K-9s checked the rest of the resort to ensure the safety of guests. No additional suspicious items were located and no injuries were reported during the incident.
