December 10, 2024 - San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at about 10:30 a.m., inmate Brandon Charles reported to San Bernardino County Sheriff logojail medical personnel he was not feeling well.  After being evaluated, Charles was transported to a hospital for ongoing treatment of a serious medical condition.  

Charles remained hospitalized until Monday, December 9, 2024, when his health deteriorated and was pronounced deceased.  Charles was transported to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.  

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and began an investigation.  

Charles was arrested by the San Bernardino Police Department on April 20, 2024, and was booked in to jail for possession of drugs and a firearm.  During the initial medical screening, it was noted Charles suffered from a serious medical condition.  Charles received medical care throughout his incarceration.
