Death Investigation in Descanso
December 13, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that on December 11th, 2024, at approximately 10:37 a.m., 
Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a body found near the intersection of State Route 79 and Wildwood Glen Lane in Descanso. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased individual. Deputies observed no immediate signs of foul play; however, as a precautionary measure, they reached out to the Sheriff's Homicide Unit. The Homicide Unit has since taken over the investigation.
On December 12th, 2024, the Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy on the deceased, who has been identified as a 29-year-old White female. We are withholding her name until the next of kin has been notified. The cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
