Homicide Investigation 

December 24, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit identified the victim in this case as 41-year-old Donneal Eugene Jones, a resident of Banning.  

The investigation is still ongoing and no further information will be released  at this time

Original Details: On Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 7:21 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Station were initially dispatched to the 13000 block of Leota Court in the city of Moreno Valley regarding a major traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Responding deputies secured the scene with crime scene tape and closed the area to all vehicle and foot traffic.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The deceased has not been identified, and the investigation is still ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
