Fatal Traffic Collision 

January 4, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 6:12 p.m., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to State Street, south of Ramona Boulevard, in the city of San Jacinto, regarding a major-injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian. Deputies arrived and located an unresponsive male in the roadway. Deputies began life saving measures until paramedics arrived. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The San Jacinto Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was standing on the side of the road and fell into the roadway, where he was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation. Information obtained at the scene suggests that alcohol and/or drug impairment on the part of the pedestrian may have been a factor in the collision. The identity of the deceased subject will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin. This investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of State Street, between De Azna Drive and Ramona Boulevard.
