Fatal Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision 

January 9, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision.

On January 8, 2025, at 5:36 a.m., an older model, red Toyota Tacoma traveling northbound Lincoln Boulevard, collided with a pedestrian who was walking eastbound, crossing Lincoln Boulevard between Fiji Way and the Culver Boulevard overpass. The driver of the pickup failed to stop, identify themselves, and render aid to the pedestrian as required by law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased. His name is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
