On December 28, 2024, a driver later identified as Kyle Macpherson (36) opened fire at the victim's vehicle near the intersection of North Melrose Drive and West Bobier Drive. No one was hurt, but the vehicle sustained more than $1,400 in damage.

After a thorough investigation, detectives from the Vista Sheriff's Station were able to obtain a search warrant and Gun Violence Restraining Order (GVRO) for Macpherson.

On Thursday, January 9 around 6:00 a.m., detectives stopped Macpherson in his car as he left his home in the 600 block of Ascot Drive.
