Ghost Guns Seized 

January 12, 2025 – Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office officials report that Deputy Valenzuela was driving along Monterey Highway in South County when he spotted a man standing near a car with shattered windows, no license plates, and items scattered around the lot. The man told Deputy Valenzuela there were no firearms or illegal items in the car. However, when the deputy looked through the broken back window, he saw a loaded firearm magazine and called for backup.

Deputies detained the man and searched the car, finding extended magazines, firearms parts, components and six ghost guns. Additionally, a fully loaded ghost gun was found in the man’s possession. It was determined that the suspect, a convicted felon with a history of firearm-related offenses, had served time in state prison and was recently arrested and released for similar crimes.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, facing 18 new felony charges. South County residents are safer with these weapons out of the wrong hands and off the streets.
