Fatal Traffic Collision
January 22, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on January 17, 2025, at 6:48 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Ellis Avenue and Redlands Avenue in Perris regarding a report of a major injury traffic collision involving a sedan and a parked semi-truck and trailer. Deputies arrived on scene and located the driver of the sedan unresponsive with major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was inside the cab of the vehicle at the time of the collision and was not injured.
The Perris Sheriff’s Station Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Preliminary findings revealed the sedan was traveling eastbound on Ellis Avenue from Redlands Avenue when it collided into the parked semi-truck and trailer. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor in this collision. This investigation is ongoing.
The driver of the sedan was identified as 19-year-old Adrian Quiroz of Perris. A temporary road closure of eastbound Ellis Avenue, east of Redlands Avenue, was required in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
