Parole Check Leads to Illegally Possessed Guns
January 25, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 10:20 a.m., the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force – Region 6 conducted a parole compliance check at a residence in the 22000 block of Laguna Drive in Moreno Valley. During the parole compliance check, a locked safe was located. Task Force Officers obtained a search warrant for the safe. Inside, they located two .40 caliber semi-automatic pistols, a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a .380 caliber pistol, a .38 special revolver, and a 5.7mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with ammunition designed to pierce body armor.
Gang Task Force Officers arrested Michael Morales, a 23-year-old resident of Moreno Valley. Morales is a convicted felon and criminal street gang member. Morales was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, a convicted felon in possession of ammunition, committing a felony while on bail, and a violation of parole. Morales was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
