January 30, 2025 – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on January 8th, 2025, Carson Station
Deputies Alkonis and Martinez responded to Altadena to assist with evacuation efforts for the Eaton Fire. During their mission, they rescued a 100-year-old woman from a senior living center that had been left alone. The deputies immediately prioritized her safety, guiding her carefully out of the building and away from harm.
Their actions were a testament to their dedication, proving their resolve to serve remains unshakable even in unfamiliar and dangerous situations.
“In the face of adversity, these deputies took immediate action," stated Sheriff Robert Luna. "Their swift response under extreme pressure is a true reflection of their commitment. I commend them and all deputies who responded to the wildfires for their unwavering dedication and service to the community, working tirelessly to save lives amid such danger. Their courage and selflessness exemplify the highest standards of law enforcement, and they deserve our deepest respect and gratitude."
