January 31, 2025 – Orange County Sheriff's Department officials report that on Friday, January 17, members of the South Directed Enforcement Team apprehended two suspects identified in connection with a burglary that occurred on New Year’s Day in the City of Rancho Santa Margarita. Both suspects were transported to jail, with one caught committing another crime at the time of their arrest. The business reported a loss of approximately $168,985 worth of merchandise. However, the business owner believes that most, if not all, of the stolen merchandise was recovered and returned.
During the investigation, three additional arrests were made, bringing the total number of suspects arrested to five.
To help prevent crimes like this, business owners are reminded to turn on their alarm systems and ensure they are functioning properly. Additionally, consider registering or integrating your security camera system with Fusus through the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Camera Registry Program to add an extra layer of security for your businesses.
