Suspect Arrested for an Inappropriate Relationship with a Minor
February 8, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 1:50 p.m.,
the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT), with the assistance of the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, served a search warrant at the 50-000 block of Calle Quito, in the city of La Quinta, regarding an inappropriate relationship with a minor investigation.
During the service of the search warrant, Rolando Garza, a 56-year-old resident of La Quinta, was arrested for the following felony charges: unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, oral copulation with a minor, and possession of methamphetamine. Garza was booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center, Indio.

The eastern Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force was formed in March 2020 to address crimes involving the exploitation of victims via force, fraud, or coercion in the eastern half of the Coachella Valley.
These cases often involve the commercial sex trafficking of children, as well as incidents of forced labor, indentured servitude, debt bondage, or slavery. The RCAHT Task Force is a multidisciplinary task force that combines the investigative resources of both local and federal law enforcement agencies. The RCAHT Task Force also provides victim services and education/outreach through partnerships with three grant-funded organizations: the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, REACH, and Rebirth Homes. RCAHT works closely with the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center to provide local education and victim advocacy. The law enforcement component of RCAHT is currently composed of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations, and Homeland Security Investigations.
