Armed Robbery in Fallbrook
February 23, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of robbing a gas station at gunpoint in Fallbrook.
It happened on Friday, February 21, just before 6:30 a.m. at the ARCO gas station located in the 1100 block of S. Main Street. Two armed Hispanic juveniles around 17-years-old walked into the gas station wearing black hoodies and black surgical masks and demanded money from the cashier. The suspects took off with about $200 in cash. They were last seen driving away in a newer model black sedan, heading north on Main Street.
A few minutes later, two off-duty deputies from the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation spotted the suspect vehicle traveling at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour on the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 heading toward Riverside County. The deputies immediately notified the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
CHP Officers and Riverside County Sheriff's Deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle on Interstate 15 and initiated a traffic pursuit. A short time later, the pursuit ended after the suspect vehicle crashed on northbound Interstate 15 at Temescal Canyon Road near Corona. CHP Officers and Riverside County Sheriff's Deputies detained the suspects until deputies from the Fallbrook Sheriff's Station arrived to take the juveniles into custody. The suspects were booked into Juvenile Hall.
A search of the suspect vehicle uncovered an airsoft gun, as well as the money that was stolen from the gas station in Fallbrook.
A preliminary investigation by Fallbrook Deputies revealed the suspects may have also been involved in a series of robberies throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties. The Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation has contacted their partner law enforcement agencies to notify them about today's arrests and will work together on the follow-up investigations.
It is the policy of the San Diego County Sheriff's Office not to release identifying information about minor suspects. The investigation is ongoing and this is all the information that can be released at this time.
The CHP is handling the crash investigation.
