Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested
March 17, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 9:18 a.m.,
deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 29000 block of Mira Loma Drive in the city of Temecula regarding an attempted murder. Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male suffering from traumatic stab wounds. The suspect had already fled the scene. Responding deputies secured the scene, and the Southwest Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation. The victim was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition.
During the investigation, the suspect was identified as 51-year-old Ricardo Castro of Los Angeles County. Additional specialized units from the Riverside County Gang Impact Team and Special Enforcement Bureau K9 Team were requested, and they located Castro in a vacant field area in Temecula. Castro was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for attempted murder. The incident was determined to be related to domestic violence.
