Commercial Burglary Suspects Arrested 

March 17, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, a report was riverside county sheriff logotaken of a commercial burglary to a business in the 28000 block of Jefferson Avenue in the city of Temecula. The suspects broke into the business, loaded approximately $50,000 worth of tools and property into a vehicle, and then stole the vehicle.

Investigators from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station’s Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) assumed the investigation. They obtained information indicating that the victim’s credit card had been used to book a room at a motel in the city of Santa Ana. On March 15, 2025, RBST members obtained a search warrant for the motel room and responded to the city of Santa Ana, assisted by members of the Southwest Sheriff’s Station’s Special Enforcement Team and Investigations Bureau. Team members located the stolen vehicle in the motel parking lot. They observed a male and female suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Marselina Ortiz and 43-year-old Jason Warner, both residents of Long Beach, exiting a motel room and were detained by deputies.

A search warrant was served on the vehicle and the motel room, and a majority of the victim’s stolen property was recovered. Ortiz was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for commercial burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, identity theft, fraudulent use of credit card information, and possession of a controlled substance. Warner was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for commercial burglary.
