Major Injury Traffic Collision 

March 17, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 9:51 a.m., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of San Jacinto Avenue and Midway Street, San Jacinto, regarding a major-injury traffic collision. When deputies arrived, they found that a motorcycle and a sports utility vehicle had collided in the intersection. The motorcycle rider was treated on the scene by paramedics before being transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the sports utility vehicle was uninjured; however, a passenger in the sports utility vehicle was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures.

The San Jacinto Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The initial investigation determined that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on San Jacinto Avenue, approaching Midway Street, as the sports utility vehicle was traveling westbound on Midway Street, crossing San Jacinto Avenue. The two vehicles collided at the intersection of San Jacinto Avenue and Midway Street. The driver of the sports utility vehicle remained on the scene, and drugs/alcohol are not currently considered to be a factor in this collision.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of San Jacinto Avenue between Commonwealth Avenue and E. Menlo Avenue for about four hours while the scene was processed.
