Forgery & Fictitious Checks 

March 26, 2025 – Sutter County Sheriff's Office officials report that over the weekend, Sutter County Deputies went out with a suspicious vehicle in the area of Blackburn Talley in Yuba City. Once contacted, deputies identified the sole occupant of the vehicle as 37-year-old Alex Nelson of Yuba City. 

Upon further investigation, deputies revealed a large amount of blank business checks and multiple payroll checks filled out with Nelson as the payee. It is unknown at this time if the checks were valid or used. Deputies also located a laptop computer, external hard drive, a 4 in 1 card reader, printer and large computer monitor in Nelson’s possession.

Nelson was arrested and booked for forgery and making/possessing fictitious checks.
