“CAT” Burglary and Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested
March 26, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on March 25, 2025, at 7:35 a.m., La Quinta patrol
deputies responded to a residence in the 81500 block of Rancho Santana Drive, La Quinta, regarding a stolen vehicle. It was determined the vehicle was stolen after the suspect entered the garage around 2:30 a.m. and stole a GMC Denali from the home. The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) assumed the investigation and later located the GMC near the casinos in the Indio area. The GMC was returned to the victim, undamaged but missing property from within.
The suspect was identified as 44-year-old Cris Clayton Jackson of Indio, who was found to be on Post Release Community Supervision. Jackson was later located in the 82100 block of Avenue 50 in the city of Indio. He was apprehended without incident by the La Quinta SET. During a search of Jackson’s residence, property belonging to the victim was located.
Jackson was later booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio for burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, theft with priors, and probation violation.
