First Restitution Payment Delivered in White’s Sierra Station Fraud Case 

April 4, 2025 – Loyalton, CA – Sierra County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on March 20, 2025, Lieutenant Kameron Crawford visited Bonnie White at White’s Sierra Station in Loyalton. Lt. Crawford delivered a $1,000 money order to Mrs. White, the first payment toward Danielle Coleman's court-ordered restitution of $6,286.81.

In November 2022, Ms. Coleman stole mail belonging to White’s Sierra Station. Inside the stolen mail was a check for $6,286.81, written from White’s Sierra Station to a product distributor. Ms. Coleman intercepted the check, altered it to be payable to herself, and successfully cashed it.

The Sierra County Sheriff's Office conducted an extensive criminal investigation to identify the suspect. During the investigation, a search warrant was executed at Ms. Coleman's residence in Sacramento, California. Deputies discovered that Ms. Coleman had stolen the personal identifying information of hundreds of individuals through mail theft. Additionally, she had committed over $100,000 in fraud through credit card misuse, check forgery, and other financial crimes.

Ms. Coleman was arrested by the Sierra County Sheriff's Office and prosecuted by the Sierra County District Attorney.

On March 13, 2025, Ms. Coleman was convicted in the Superior Court of California, County of Sierra, for felony grand larceny and identity theft.

Despite having a prior conviction for identity theft and now a second conviction, Ms. Coleman received a lenient sentence of residential rehabilitation “in the interests of justice” for six months, with a 16-month prison sentence to be imposed if she fails to complete the program or violates probation. Ms. Coleman initially failed to self-surrender to the rehabilitation facility, prompting an arrest warrant to be issued. However, she turned herself into the program before law enforcement could take her into custody.

While the Sierra County Sheriff's Office is disappointed in the sentencing outcome, our commitment remains unwavering. We will continue to be the voice for victims of crime in our county.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Sierra County District Attorney, who vigorously prosecuted Ms. Coleman over the past two years, secured restitution for victims, and opposed the court’s sentencing decision.
