Modoc Man Re-Arrested 

April 6, 2025 – MODOC COUNTY, CA – Modoc County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on April 4, 2025, hours after being released from the Modoc County Jail, Christopher Allen Cavnar, 40, was re-arrested for violating the terms and conditions of a court order issued by the Modoc Superior Court. 

On Thursday, April 3, 2025, during court proceedings, Cavnar was released from custody by the Modoc Superior Court against strong opposition from the Modoc County District Attorney. The release was effective Friday, April 4, 2025. Cavnar was in custody facing charges of multiple counts of stalking, sending annoying or harassing phone calls and violating a domestic violence restraining order. 

Cavnar was released from the Modoc County Jail at approximately 9:00 A.M. on Friday, April 4, 2025. By mid-afternoon deputies received a complaint which alerted deputies that Cavnar was violating the terms of his release orders imposed by the court. 

Cavnar was subsequently arrested and booked into the Modoc County Jail on new charges for sending annoying or harassing phone calls and violating the terms and conditions of a court order. Cavnar's bail is currently set at $25,000. He will be arraigned on his new charges early next week.
